Where were you on September 11, 2001 when ...

the first plane hit the Twin Towers???? Well, I was 25 years old and I was at
Ceda with my cousin Pam. I remember watching Good Morning America, when they were talking about the first tower, then all of a sudden the second plane hit.....I remember saying oh my God, are we under attack? I called my mom and told her to turn on the news, and she said "Girl, somebody must have went to sleep at the control towers, because two planes just crashed into the Eiffel Towers? I remember thinking "what channel is she watching?", and she immediately corrected herself and said the "Twin Towers". I remember laughing and going to my mom's for coffee. No sooner did I get to my mom's did the kids school call and I had to pick them up from School because the school was on high alert and dismised all students. Thanks God, I only lived 15 minutes from my mom's. I remember going back to my mom's and explaining what was going on to a kingegartner and a 4th grader. I remember my son saying "God, why do they hate us?".

I remember my mom and I watching and screaming as the first tower collapsed......I remember bawling my eyes out and then the second tower fell, I was in shock. I couldn't believe it. Then we got new about the pentagon and the plain that went down. We watched MSNBC all night long. It was crazy!

It's hard to believe that was 6 years ago, because I remember it like it was yesterday!!!

One thing that changed that day was my ILLUSION OF SAFETY. I never thought in a million years that America would be attacked on their own soil. Never! That day, changed that illusion real fast.
Where were you when we were attacked? What has changed since then?

I was at home in Vallejo CA, 3 months pg with DS Jamie. Iain was in Denver on a business trip and I woke up (morning sickness), turned on the TV and saw what was going on. I called Iain and he and I stayed on the phone together for 2 hours watching the news at the same time. Such a terrible day.

I was actually at home, I had just gotten ds Joseph out to the bus and was pouring my first cup of coffee and was going to read the paper when I heard the news on ABC. I was first shocked then I think I was stunned when the 2nd plane hit. I was getting calls from friends that really don't know how far away I actually live from the city, it is about 25-30 miles away. Then my family called from Las Vegas to see what was going on. It is a day that I'm sure we will never forget.
