I was just thinking....

....about how truly BLESSED I am ....
Sometimes, we can get so caught up in "what's wrong" with our lives, that we can't recognize "what's right".

I can say...
I have a roof over my head....
I have 3 beautiful children
I still have BOTH my parents, and they are healthy
I have people who in my life who are "real friends"
I enjoy some of the finer things in life...
I have all of my needs, a good amount of my wants
I am healthy!
I am here....

You can think your life is going downhill...
Until you here some real HORROR STORIES....
Things like losing your child, not having a place to lay your head, not having food to put in your belly when you are hungry, ......

My life has honestly not been a fairytale....
I have been through ALOT....
rape, alcoholism (not me), caring for a loved one with Alzheimer's, drug addiction (not me), alienation, and many more things....

But, I am still HERE!!!!!
I am alive and breathing.

I didn't let those things CONSUME ME!

Yes, it was horrible.....
Unimaginable...
but there are people out there, that have been through far worse.

I am a SURVIVOR!
I didn't get there alone, but by the GRACE of God, who never forsaked me!

And I can TRULY say I am blessed!

I am blessed, to have met soooo many people who ARE JUST LIKE ME...
Who enjoy some of the same things I enjoy...
People who I have come to know and love....
Like Adrienne, who is my sister by another mother.....
BonnieRose, who is my partner in crime, and whom I love and respect...
And so many more people who I have met, through scrapbooking and blogging!!!!!!

I am BLESSED to have a husband, who will GO THROUGH the fire for me, and who puts up with my moody ways at time, and supports me through my depression. We have been through a lot, but one thing I can say, is that he has never ABANDONED me, he has remained with me through good and BAD!

Today, I challenge you to list 10 reasons why you are blessed!

We can sometimes get so wrapped up and not appreciate and acknowledge our BLESSINGS, and in doing so ....

We can be blocking them....

Until next time...

Great post Dana. "Blessings" is my word for the year and I keep a little journal of lists for each week of blessings. For the exact reason you describe. So I don't have a pity party for myself and dwell on all the stuff that can get me down. What's the use!?
Oh, and I LOVE how your wire two-tired basket came out. I have the same one and left it unpainted but your's is super cute.
And, thank you so much for the comment you left about my Limbo post. I know, you know how it is!

You and I must have been on the same wavelength this morning. I was thinking about how blessed I am on the drive in to work. There are so many negatives, but when you pause to really put it into perspective - we really are blessed. Wonderful post!! Thanks for sharing! :)
