VICTORY!!!!!

He won by a landslide.
Yesterday History was made. I hollered so loud I thought I was going to have a brain aneurysm. I was overwhelmed with emotion. I sobbed with immense joy. I only wished that my grandmother was here to witness this HISTORICAL event.

This is truly a life changing moment. Our country has moved past race and judged a man on the content of his character and not the color of his skin. How else would you explain? It took more than just the African American vote to get him elected. I feel like all things are POSSIBLE.

Now when I look into the eyes of my children and I say "you can be anything you want" that this mean EVEN THE PRESIDENT of the United States.

I am overjoyed! I am elated!

This means so much to me...
This is a monumental milestone...

I am welling up right now, because this means so much to me...
I am so not an early bird, but I woke up at 5am...so that I can vote.
I called all my friends to make sure they voted...

The outcome has made a major influence on my life...

I know all things are possible!!!!
My children watched the news all day with me...
Especially Miss Jaree who watched with me the whole entire time...

She asked me "mommy you are supposed to be happy, why are you crying"

I told her because " I wished grandma could be here to see our first African American president",
she said "Mommy they are already celebrating in heaven"

That touched my heart!

I am so full this morning.

Full of hope
Full of joy
Full of optimism
Full of emotion. Period.

CONGRATULATIONS! PRESIDENT ELECT BARACK OBAMA!!!

I will leave you with the words of the late GREAT Martin Luther King Jr. " I might not get there with you, but we will get to the Promise land..... Dr. King, we are there and I know you are smiling down on us right now. Without you and your dedication and the barriers you broke down, we would not be able to be where we are......Thank you

Such joy today, even across the ocean. My husband woke me this morning with the news "Welcome to a better world" (the result didn't come in until 4 or 5am over here). For sure, your grandmother is up there partying with Obama's grandmother, and my grandfather who always taught us to judge a man by his deeds, not his clothes, skin or whatever!
